Where the Mountains Meet the Sea

Not to be dramatic, but I'm not sure I've ever fawned over a color pairing this hard. Gone are the days of neutral fixation and I’m more and more drawn to grounding hues that feel vibrant and alive. Cue: shades of terracotta and light blue.

As I gather inspiration for a new (and very exciting) project out west, I find myself captivated by the California coast. Each sunset casts a terracotta glow over the cliffs overlooking the Pacific, and I’m dreaming of ways to weave this heavenly duo into the project in exciting and unexpected ways. Here are some of the items that fit the mold.

  1. Hand-knotted Wool Rug - The perfect rug does exist. Very into the entire Ward & Gray rug collection.

  2. Table Lamp - Classic shape, gorgeous finish.

  3. Cornflower Pillow - Timelessly cool.

  4. Granada Painting - Pure pigment on linen. The incredible artist extracts pigments directly from stones, red rocks and sand resulting in the most natural and insanely stunning colors.

  5. Terracotta Pillow - Loving this brand if you couldn’t tell.

  6. Handmade Quilt - Reversible and just so pretty. I’d consider this quite the heirloom piece and I need it.

  7. Dume Chair - A limited edition color in the quintessential JK chair. Made from 100% sustainable Libeco flax linen. Imagine the handmade quilt linked above draped over the side… Ugh.

  8. Gourd Vase - I feel very passionate about Victoria Morris’s pottery. This piece is no exception.
